Corporate health days
Including staff wellbeing as part of your people strategy can help reduce absence, as well as improving productivity and retention. There are some simple, and cost-effective ways we can help you, and your employees to be happy, healthy and well.
Health Check days
Did you know over 40% of cancers could be prevented by simple changes to lifestyle?
Our touchscreen Health Check asks questions relating to lifestyle, screening, and identifies early signs and symptoms.
Our Health Check team can visit your workplace and offer 15 minute appointments, seeing around 40 people a day. Once completed, the Health Check gives a simple traffic light print out of the answers, which are discussed in private with our trained Health Advisor.
Following our visit, we’ll produce a report with detailed anonymised data, which gives a snapshot of the health behaviour of your workforce, including numbers of smokers, level of alcohol consumption, dietary patterns etc. This can help inform any further initiatives and activity, and can be used as evidence when applying for a Corporate Health Standards Award.
We can offer Health Check days from £500. If you’d like to find out more or request a Health Check day, click here.
Quit with Us
Smoking is the single most preventable cause of premature death and illness causing one fifth of all UK deaths. Evidence also suggests that employers who support their staff to quit smoking, could benefit from reduced sickness absence and increased productivity.
As part of the annual national No Smoking Day campaign, we offer quit smoking services from March to May every year. We can run drop in sessions at your workplaces offering smokers a free supply of Nicotine Replacement and a chance to speak with a community pharmacist, who discusses with them the best ways to quit and signposts to other free support including NHS services.
Following your Quit with Us day, we’ll produce a report, highlighting our findings around your employees’ smoking habits.
We can offer Quit with Us days from £750. If you’d like to find out more or request a Quit with Us day, click here.
Here Comes the Sun
In the UK around 2,000 people die from skin cancer each year. More than two 15-34 year olds are diagnosed with malignant melanoma every day, and it’s the second most common cancer in this age group.
Our Here Comes the Sun campaign raises awareness of the symptoms of skin cancer and the importance of protecting your skin when in the sun.
We can bring our branded Sun Cream Van to your workplace or event over the summer, to have sun safety conversations and give out free branded SPF30 sun cream. We can also come with a stand to give information out to employees for a morning or afternoon session if the Sun Cream Van is not suitable.
We can offer Here Comes the Sun days from £500. If you’d like to find out more or request a Here Comes the Sun day, click here.
Signing up a corporate team to one of our challenge events (or creating your own) is a great way to motivate your staff and encourage them to keep fit and healthy.
You could do a long distance bike ride like our North to South Wales cycle or join an organised run like the Swansea or Cardiff 10k. There’s also UK and overseas treks like our Twilight Trek in Snowdonia, the Welsh 3 Peaks or our Macchu Picchu Trek.
Check out our current challenge events here or get in touch to discuss your own challenge event ideas.
What our previous companies have said
“We recognise the importance of delivering positive health and wellbeing messages to our employees. It's important for our workforce to feel that we value and care about them as it creates a positive and healthy workforce which improves employee engagement levels. Tenovus Cancer Care came to us last year to deliver a health check day which was really well received by everyone involved. The individual consultations have led to a change in behaviour when it comes to health and lifestyle.
We have more active employees participating in charity events and who are now more aware of what they eat and drink. From a company point of view we received a full evaluation from the day which highlighted areas that HR could help influence and change through further wellbeing initiatives. The long term effects mean that in making these changes we would save lost hours through illness and altogether have a more positive, healthy and productive working environment.”
