Respect Award Nominations

Kevin Sutton

Kevin is the Chair of Llandudno Friends of Tenovus fundraising group, an individual fundraiser and Llandudno Sing with Us choir volunteer. He has also previously volunteered in the Llandudno Tenovus Cancer Care shop.

Kev has been a supporter of the charity for some time – he’s been a Llandudno choir member from almost the beginning, he’s the founder and Chair of the Llandudno fundraising group, he’s run the London Marathon for Tenovus Cancer Care several times and is a super bucket collector in the area. This year he’s taken on a ‘Trio for Tenovus Cancer Care’ challenge.

Kevin is always willing to help and support anything Tenovus Cancer Care do in the North Wales area. He’s supportive of all events and is there to help whatever the weather. He’s amazing at promoting Tenovus Cancer Care’s services and why he supports the charity.

Kevin ticks all the boxes for the Respect Award; he’s energetic, enthusiastic, compassionate and positive in his attitude to volunteering. He’s a great ambassador for the charity.

Robert Wilcock

Robert is a Retail Assistant in our Broadmead and Bedminster shops in Bristol.

Rob is such a valuable and dependable volunteer, he’s an irreplaceable asset to the charity. He is the epitome of what a volunteer should be; he is dedicated, passionate, reliable and above all caring.

There have been countless occasions where Rob will put his plans on hold and dedicate his free time to help the charity.

He is incredibly versatile and can fill almost every role in the shop. He has come up with a huge amount of new processes and tools for the shop, and the team often consult him to help solve problems. When something irritates him, like a cluttered sort table, his mind will start working on a solution; one day the team came into the shop to find the entire sort table tools attached conveniently to the side of the sorting table with Velcro. If he is not inventing things he is taking other people’s ideas and putting them into practise.

Carol Williams

Carol is the Chair of the Aberdare Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care fundraising group.

Carol became a member of the group after going to one of the their fundraising events. She recognised the importance of raising awareness of Tenovus Cancer Care in the community, and the vital funds the group raise to support their services.

As the new Chair, Carol, has been truly fantastic! She has introduced her own fundraising ideas and supported the long-standing events that the group has annually organised.

She’s been amazing in leading the group, taking everything in her stride and gaining new supporters in the area. She’s been respectful of how the group worked together in the past and their different strengths and is a huge inspiration to the group!

Without Carol’s support, the group would have likely folded and we wouldn’t continue to have this amazing fundraising group who have been supporting Tenovus Cancer Care for over 23 years!

The Respect Award is kindly sponsored by Trivallis

We are a housing association that manages almost 10,000 homes across Rhondda Cynon Taff. As a community mutual, we are about more than just bricks and mortar. We do more than simply allocate housing and collect rent and are passionate about supporting communities to grow and prosper. Tenovus Cancer Care was nominated, by staff and customers, to be Trivallis’ charity partner for 2017 – 2019 with the aim of raising £6,000. We are now over half way to achieving this target.

"We are proud to be a sponsor of these awards that recognise the fantastic work volunteers are doing to support people with cancer and their families. Respect is one of our core values and it’s something that we have in abundance for everyone who is involved in this incredible charity and everyone nominated for awards."
