Linda Rafferty is from Croesyceiliog and was diagnosed with bowel cancer in July 2012.
This is Linda's story:
"I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in July 2012. When I was diagnosed, even the word 'bowel' was difficult to say but I was determined to de-stigmatise it and stay as socially active as possible. After my diagnosis I intended to keep working to keep my mind busy, but the thing is, once cancer arrives it's pretty difficult to distract yourself from it so I left work in August 2012.
"My family have been a huge support as well as all the nurses on the Mobile Support Unit and the caring and compassionate Tenovus Cancer Care staff.
"Being able to have treatment weekly on my doorstep in Cwmbran has been unbelievable! If I had to travel to hospital every week it would have had a huge financial impact over the six month period.
"People I tell can't believe how fantastic the Mobile Support Unit is and I cannot praise Tenovus Cancer Care enough."
