Three reasons to shop with us this Christmas

Christmas is the season of joy and giving, but it can also be a time of stress and overspending. Between expensive gifts and the environmental impact of mass consumerism, the festive spirit can sometimes feel a little less magical. That’s where charity shopping comes in!

Our Christmas campaign ‘Gifts That Keep On Giving’ highlights the benefits of charity shopping. Not only is it budget-friendly, it’s also a sustainable and meaningful way to celebrate. Here are three reasons why you should shop with Tenovus Cancer Care this Christmas.

Sustainable

Shopping doesn’t have to cost the earth. Buying second-hand promotes a circular economy by keeping items in use for longer. More than 90% of donated clothing and books, and 85% of electrical goods, are reused or recycled through charity shops. So, when you donate or shop with us, you’re actively contributing to this cycle.

When an item is donated, our priority is to find it a new home by checking, pricing, and displaying for resale. Increasingly, we have specialist volunteers who step in to upcycle items so even damaged or tatty goods can have a new lease of life. For items that can’t be sold, we work with textile recyclers to make sure as little as possible goes to waste.

Affordable

Everyone loves a festive bargain! Whether you’re shopping for a stylish party outfit, a secret Santa gift, or fun Christmas decorations, we have something for everyone.

Because our shops rely on donations, they’re filled with items in great condition that can be yours for much less than their original price. For the fashionistas, many of our shops have dedicated designer and vintage sections with high-quality items at a fraction of their usual cost.

Meaningful

Charity shops give back to the community by providing employment and volunteering opportunities, helping people develop new skills and confidence.

Most importantly, 100% of the profits from our shops and online go towards supporting people affected by cancer by funding our vital services. You can read stories from some of the incredible people we’ve helped, thanks to our generous supporters.

Christmas is more than just exchanging presents, it’s about the thought, care, and love behind each gift. The best presents are those where your loved one has taken the time to choose something special and unique just for you.

You can find our 56 shops right across Wales, as well as in the Midlands and South West of England, and online.
