A cancer diagnosis can trigger a wide range of feelings and emotions that you may need support with. Anxiety levels are very often increased and emotions such as anger, denial, worry, and isolation, can be difficult and confusing.
Talking to a counsellor may help you adjust to what it means to live with cancer.
Our Counselling service
Available in English and Welsh, our specialist counselling service provides a safe and confidential space for individuals to talk about the impact of their cancer diagnosis and whatever matters most to them. Our trained BACP registered counsellors are highly experienced in helping people with cancer to explore their feelings and talk through confusing or upsetting emotions.
We accept referrals by identified health care professionals and provide counselling support for anyone living in Wales, aged over 18, experiencing difficulties with a cancer diagnosis.
After a 30 minute session to gather information to identify what matters most to you, our specialist counsellors can offer you up to six consecutive weekly one hour virtual counselling sessions.
Who we work with
The Tenovus Cancer Care Counselling service is available to people who are experiencing emotional and psychological distress in relation to their own experience of cancer. We only work with people with an agreed and identified referral from health care professionals.
This service is available in both English and Welsh.
