Caerphilly-born Amy Dowden was the first Welsh professional dancer to join BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, making her debut in 2017 and becoming a finalist in 2019 with TV presenter Karim Zeroual. She is a four-time British National Finalist, a World Championship semi-finalist, a Guiness World Record holder for the most back-Charleston kick-steps in 30 seconds and remains one of the highest-ranking Ballroom and Latin American professional dancers in the UK.  

 

Our story

Since becoming patron of Tenovus Cancer Care in 2023, Amy Dowden's support and involvement has been invaluable. She performed alongside her husband during our 80th Anniversary Celebrations and has provided support through various videos for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
