Dafydd James is a highly decorated former professional Rugby Union player, earning 51 caps for Wales and 3 for the British and Irish Lions during his 16-year professional rugby career. During his illustrious career he played at Bridgend, Pontypridd, Harlequins and Llanelli Scarlets where he also captained the side. He was the first person to score 25 tries in the Heineken Cup and remains the highest British and Irish try scorer. Following retirement, he's dedicated to sharing his skills with aspiring athletes through motivational speaking on coaching. He is also an experienced tv and media pundit with the BBC.
Our story
A dedicated patron of Tenovus Cancer Care for over 10 years, Dafydd James has taken on numerous Challenge Events in support of us. He's participated in the Ironman Swansea 70.3, Cardiff Half Marathon and joined fellow patron Rupert Moon on a cycling challenge from the Welsh capital to the French capital. He has also hosted our annual Gourmet Golf event.
