As a distinguished funder of cancer research, we’re a member of a range of bodies, committees and panels. We work alongside other organisations to increase the impact and reach of our research, share knowledge and best practice.
Key memberships
AMRC
To make sure we fund the highest quality projects, we are a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), a national organisation of leading medical and health research charities. AMRC membership is the hallmark of quality research funding.
This means we follow the AMRC principles of peer review and support the AMRC position
statement on the use of animals in research. We were awarded ‘Best practice in medical and health research peer review’ following our five-yearly audit in 2015.
Wales Cancer Partnership
The Wales Cancer Partnership has been established to improve research collaboration in Wales. It aims to foster closer relationships between all cancer organisations in Wales, bringing together all our voices for the benefit of current and future cancer patients, their families and communities. The partnership includes higher education institutions, NHS health boards, patient & public representatives, the third sector, and pharmaceutical companies, all working to tackle cancer in Wales and beyond.
Shared Learning Group – Charities Research Involvement Group
We are a member of the Charities Research Involvement Group, a subgroup of the Shared Learning Group. Their aim is to encourage shared learning about service user and carer involvement between voluntary sector organisations working in the UK.
