Health Technology Wales has launched an open topic call to find non-medicine health and care technologies that could improve the lives of people living with cancer in Wales.
It is inviting health and care professionals, technology developers, academics, and members of the public to submit their ideas.
HTW, which appraises non-medicine health and care technologies and produces national guidance on whether they should be adopted in Wales, will assess the evidence available on each health or care technology submitted.
A decision will then be made on whether there is sufficient evidence to publish national guidance that may support adoption of the technology in Wales.
Previous examples of cancer related topics which HTW has published national guidance on, include:
- Stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma
- Extreme Hypofractionated Radiotherapy (EHFRT)
According to Cancer Research UK, in the UK 1 in 2 people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
Every year around 19,500 people in Wales are diagnosed with cancer.
Anybody who would like to take part in the open topic call should do so by visiting the Suggest a Topic page on the Health Technology Wales website.
Ydych chi'n gwybod am dechnoleg iechyd neu ofal anfeddygol a allai wella bywydau pobl sy'n byw gyda chanser yng Nghymru?
Mae Technoleg Iechyd Cymru wedi lansio galwad pwnc agored i ddod o hyd i dechnolegau iechyd a gofal anfeddygol a allai wella bywydau pobl sy'n byw gyda chanser yng Nghymru.
Mae'n gwahodd gweithwyr iechyd a gofal proffesiynol, datblygwyr technoleg, academyddion, ac aelodau'r cyhoedd i gyflwyno eu syniadau.
Bydd HTW, sy'n arfarnu technolegau iechyd a gofal anfeddygol ac sy'n cynhyrchu canllawiau cenedlaethol ynghylch p’un a ddylid eu defnyddio yng Nghymru neu beidio, yn asesu'r dystiolaeth sydd ar gael ar bob technoleg iechyd digidol a gyflwynir.
Bydd penderfyniad yn cael ei wneud wedyn ynghylch p’un a oes digon o dystiolaeth i gyhoeddi canllaw a allai gefnogi defnyddio’r dechnoleg yng Nghymru.
Mae enghreifftiau blaenorol o bynciau sy'n gysylltiedig â chanser y mae HTW wedi cyhoeddi canllawiau cenedlaethol arnynt, yn cynnwys:
- radiotherapi abladol stereotactig (SABR) i drin carcinoma
- Radiotherapi Hypoffracsiynedig Eithafol (EHFRT)
Yn ôl Cancer Research UK, bydd 1 o bob 2 berson yn y DU yn cael diagnosis o ganser yn ystod eu hoes.
Bob blwyddyn, mae tua 19,500 o bobl yng Nghymru yn cael diagnosis o ganser.
Dylai unrhyw un a hoffai gymryd rhan yn y galwad pwnc agored wneud hynny drwy fynd i'r dudalen Awgrymu Pwnc ar wefan Technoleg Iechyd Cymru.
