Current ovarian cancer treatments, like surgery and chemotherapy, often have harsh side effects and don't always prevent the cancer from coming back.

The research team aims to develop a more targeted cancer treatment that will reduce side effects and improve outcomes for patients.

What will I be asked to do?

Researchers would like to hear about your experiences of ovarian cancer, either from a personal perspective or from caring for a family member or friend. The team would like you to read and review a short document and attend two meetings to do this.

How long will I be needed for?

You will be needed for a total of five hours. You will be asked to attend two one-hour meetings and reading and reviewing the document will take up to three hours

What are some of the benefits for me?

Benefits to you:

  • Learn about what research for ovarian cancer is being carried out in Wales
  • Be part of a project that will lead to better treatment and outcomes for patients with ovarian cancer

The team will:

  • Cover reasonable travel expenses and additional carer or childcare costs,
  • Offer payment for time of £25.00 per hour (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits).

Have a look at the guidelines for more information about this.

If you are receiving any benefits, you can access confidential advice from the Benefits Advice Service for Involvement.
