Judi Rhys MBE, Chief Executive at Tenovus Cancer Care, said:
"The disastrous trend continues as cancer waiting times fall way short of their target, yet again.
Cancer services in Wales are in crisis. The heart-breaking impact of these delays has been brought to life through the recent experiences of women in the ongoing inquiry into gynaecological cancers – which has one of the worst waiting times.
A concerted effort is needed to address the challenges all along the cancer pathway, which have catastrophic consequences on treatment options and survival chances. While we know the health service is under great strain and the demand for cancer care has increased, these services need urgent attention.
We will continue to bring the voice of people affected by cancer to drive the changes needed to make a real difference. Our services are here for everyone who needs them, offering information, advice, and specialist support."
