Tell everyone about your fundraising!
You’ve planned your fundraising, now it’s time to tell the world! The more people who know about what you’re up to, the more money you’ll raise. You’re also helping more people hear about the important work of Tenovus Cancer Care, and the support we can offer.
Posters
If you’re holding an event and want to shout about it, you can request template posters from our fundraising team. You can then pop these up in your local community. If you’re holding a larger event, we may be able to design you bespoke posters, flyers and tickets.
Get social
If you have a Facebook page, or if you’re on Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn, make sure you tell your friends and followers all about your fundraising.
Social media is a great way to get the word out there, but remember the more your post stands out, the more likely people will get involved. Everyone loves a photo, so make sure you are using a pic of you in your fundraising post. Tell them why you’ve chosen to take on this challenge or put on the event and the amount you hope to raise. Then ask for a donation even if it’s only a few pounds.
If you’re holding an event, why not create a ‘Facebook Event’ which your friends, family and attendees can say they’re coming to. This helps spread the word as when they say they’re ‘interested’ or ‘attending’ their friends will see this too. Don’t forget to post in the event regularly to tell people about what’s happening, and remind them to buy tickets. If you’re selling tickets through Eventbrite, it can all be linked through Facebook. Imagine just how much you could raise if all of your social media friends donated just £1? If you’re on Twitter or Instagram, don’t forget to tag us and if you’re taking part in a running or challenge event, join in the conversation at #TeamTenovus.
Get in the press
Local media are always looking for interesting stories about what’s going on in their community. Send a short press release to your local paper or radio station and let them know what you’re doing and why! If you’re not sure where to start, we can send you a template.
